A-Squared Brewing Company

A-Squared Brewing Company is a family-run microbrewery and kitchen in Mountain Grove, the town where its owners grew up. Brewer Austin, who earned a biochemistry degree at Drury University in Springfield, started brewing with his father, Allen, on a basement homebrew kit as a father-son hobby. The project grew until they had 16 beers on tap at home and Austin had fallen for the craft, and the family decided to open a brewery to share those beers. Family members also handle the kitchen, events and the bar. The kitchen serves fresh-made food, including weekend specials. A-Squared beers won People’s Choice in the beer category at the Midwest Regional Beer, Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Festival in Springfield in 2024 and 2025. The taproom can be reserved for private events, and the family also owns Lake Bums BrewCo in Pontiac.
