Springfield Brewing Co

Springfield Brewing Company has brewed in downtown Springfield since 1997, when the Paul Mueller Company bought and renovated a two-story building on South Market Avenue to showcase its stainless steel brewing equipment. The building dates to 1910, when local businessman Job Newton built it for the Newton Grain Company, and it later housed a farmers’ association and other tenants. Springfield Brewing opened on December 19, 1997, and since Mueller sold it in 2011 it has been a locally owned, independent family business that calls itself Missouri’s winningest family-owned brewery. Over the years it has added capacity, switched from bottles to cans, expanded into neighboring buildings and introduced its own cider. In 2020 it opened Ty Iechyd Da, an onsite distillery next door that makes small-batch spirits served at all of its venues. Its downtown campus now includes The Snug and several taprooms.
