Kansas City Bier Company

KC Bier Co. is a Kansas City brewery founded in 2014 to make German-style beer, which it spells bier. Its recipes use just four ingredients: water, German malt from IREKS, a long-established family maltster in Kulmbach, hops grown on the Seitz Farm in Bavaria’s Hallertau Valley, and yeast from Andechs, a centuries-old Bavarian monastery brewery. The year-round lineup includes a Dunkel, a Hefeweizen, a Helles Lager, Pure Pils, Bier Co Light and Never Say IPA, sold on draught and in six-packs of bottles. Seasonal releases have included a summer Kölsch, a fall Festbier and a winter Schwarzbier, plus limited releases. KC Bier distributes across Missouri and Kansas and runs two places to drink: the original brewery in the Waldo area of Kansas City, with a tasting room and biergarten, and a Lenexa, Kansas, location that combines a brewpub, bier hall and biergarten. The brewery also hosts KC Oktoberfest.
