Transparent Brewing Company

Transparent Brewing Company is a local, family-owned microbrewery in Grandview, founded in 2020 by Kansas City native and brewer Nolan Brown, with Chris Hamm as lead brewer. Brown believed craft beer should bring people together, and the mission centers on transparency, sustainability and community. It brews approachable beers in a wide range of styles, with core and seasonal lineups, and pairs them with a full food menu, online ordering and catering. Sustainability shows up throughout the building. The lattice over the bar is reclaimed wood, the slat walls were built from broken-down crates and skids, and the tables were handmade from the wood of a 1920s hay barn in Seymour, Missouri. The newer building uses recyclable materials and no-VOC products, the brewery buys locally where it can, and future plans include solar panels, a green roof, a gray-water system and a windmill.
