River Bluff Brewing At River Market

River Bluff Brewing at River Market is the Kansas City tasting room of River Bluff Brewing, the St. Joseph brewery that set up shop in a restored pre-Prohibition brewery and its old cellars. The River Market spot is the company’s second location and pours beers that have won silver at the 2026 World Beer Cup, gold at the 2024 World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival, and GABF silver medals in 2019 and 2022. River Bluff was founded by Chris Lanman, Edison Derr and Isaac Unruh. Derr, a longtime homebrewer, came from athletic training and earned an MBA. Founding master brewer Joel Cummings, who had worked at Boulevard, Ska and Steamworks, helped give the beer its early reputation.
