Brewery Emperial

Brewery Emperial is a brewpub in Kansas City’s East Crossroads that set out to add its own ales and lagers to the neighborhood and the wider craft brewing movement. Brewmaster Keith Thompson focuses on neoclassic versions of traditional ales and lagers, while the kitchen builds an elevated take on casual fare from fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The name carries a few layers. It nods to the Imperial Brewery, which held a foothold in Kansas City from the late 19th century until Prohibition, and it puts the word brewery first in the European manner to signal that beer remains the main focus. The space includes an intimate dining room and a spacious beer garden. Alongside draft and bottled beer, Brewery Emperial serves cocktails and a breakfast menu and takes online reservations.
